Both notched big wins with Albion defending for a 117-run win over Kookaburras and Court House thumping an undermanned Mornington by 239 runs.
The latter game will be remembered for that, as much as the rare cricketting feat of a hat-trick in each innings.
Neither Court House skipper Farran Lamb nor his counterpart Jason Rose could remember being involved in a game where there were two hat-tricks were taken.
“I’ve played in a game where I got one but I’ve never seen two in one game,” Lamb said.
Rose snared the first at the back end of Court House’s innings as the defending champions piled on 8-296 from their 40 overs.
That was always going to be tough for Mornington to chase down and so it proved to be Ben Irwin (6-19) finishing his spell with a hat-trick to rout them for just 57.
Jasper Thomas (1-22) claimed the other wicket, Lamb only having to use three bowlers.
Harry Willoughby was Mornington’s shining star with the bat, the 14-year old top-scoring with 16.
Earlier Isaac Harris and Brad Gander both just missed out on centuries.
Gander fell 14 runs shy of his ton after sharing a 174 run second wicket stand with Harris who, stepping up to open, was dismissed for 82 in a flurry of wickets after tea.
Lamb was eyeing off 300 and helped them almost get there with an unbeaten 42.
In the other game, Albion skipper Andy Mack notched his third half-century of the season as they posted 8-187.
The opener continued his brilliant season with the bat with 60. Brother James also chimed in with 22, Brad Jenkinson 22 and Hayden Baker 28 before late cameos from Ashley White (17no) on debut and Garry Briggs (21no) lifted them above 180.
Vinnie Winsor was Kookaburra’s best with the ball his toils earning him 5-22.
As they have so often done this season Jenkinson (0-2) and Luke Ryan (2-9) then put the squeeze on Kookaburras early. They never recovered with skipper Shane Riordan the only batsmen to make double figures as they replied with 9-70.
Briggs backed up his efforts with the bat with 3-15 while Will Maggs snared 2-3.
