The report examines the response of the Catholic Dioceses of Armidale and Parramatta “to allegations of child sexual abuse against a priest”.
But the contents of the report remain suppressed after the commission recommended it not be made public while legal proceedings continue.
The commission said its terms of reference require it not to prejudice current or future criminal or civil court proceedings.
The commission announced it had delivered Case Study 44, along with Case Study 43 which investigated the response of Catholic Church authorities in the Maitland-Newcastle region to allegations of child sexual abuse by clergy and religious.
It expected the two reports would be made public “at a later time”.
