The rivals came together on court 2 to battle for the title, and the fiery colours of red and orange gave an indication of the heat and intensity that followed.
Eagle Power started the fire when Izaac Enks sunk the first basket just 30 seconds after the jump. Chris Skilton followed up with his own two pointer straight after.
Blake Russell broke the seal for the Matt Salter team before Riley Murphy and Ben Monckton added their points to the scoreboard.
Eagle Power Sport’s Benjamin Pearce, Toby Whale and Thomas Eather all added two pointers to the score but the three point shots were proving elusive despite several attempts.
This didn't lessen the intensity, and at one point Will Hansen’s hunger for the ball saw him end up in the stands.
The first three pointer of the game went to Matt Salter Constructions when Riley Murphy sunk one with style. Blake Russell must have liked the way it was done and he responded with his own long-range bomb shortly after.
Constructions started to pull ahead, before the orange men closed the gap and the score was locked at 23 all with a minute to go in the first half.
The ball raced from one end to the other setting Will Hansen up for a triple giving the Eagle Power a three point lead as the siren sounded.
Eagle Power Sports increased their lead when Matthew Gambrill scored the first points of the second half.
Matt Salter Constructions had started the second period slowly but Rhys Chillingsworth stepped up and scored four minutes into the half.
Ben Monckton jumped half his height to intercept the ball and sent it flying back to his team-mate.
The passes were powerful from both teams and accuracy kept the ball in play.
There was a lot of experience on the court with Thunderbolt reps on both sides and it showed with the fast play and strenuous defence.
The Eagle Power Sports team kept their momentum and Matt Salter Constructions weren't able to come back, the game finishing 54-30.
It was a great game to finish off a great year and we say goodbye to the Dome until the new season starts in February.
