In week one Chloe Mackaway sliced more than three seconds off the open girls 50 metre freestyle time held by Kareena Potter since 1985, when she stopped the clock at 30.44sec. The same day, Chloe relieved her older sister Amber of the open 50m backstroke and breastroke records in the respective times of 39.66sec and 43.32sec.
Last week Maclaway lowered the 4x50m open girls record held by Potter since 1985 by more than 25 seconds in a time of 3min 06.04sec, and then on Tuesday she broke Lyn Levingston’s long-standing 200m freestyle time set in 1982 by nearly 20 seconds in 2:46.11.
This this week club president Angus Warden took nearly 15 seconds off the 200m open freestyle set by Dean Hancock in 1984 with a 2:32.72 effort.
And a fortnight ago his daughter Jemma beat the 10-years-girls 50m backstroke time set by Georgia Brown in 2005, clocking 45.03sec.
Last week Thomas Micallef bettered the 14-years-boys 4x50m medley record held by Dean Hancock since 1983 by nearly seven seconds, clocking 3:06.40, and then went within a whisker of the 200m freestyle record on Tuesday.
