The Quirindi High distance sensation won gold in the under 14 event at the Australian All Schools Championships held in Adelaide on the weekend to add to her impressive tally of cross-country and track and field medals.

Quigley had heading into the event said she was hoping to break from the 4min 40s into the 30s, and did just that clocking 4mins 35.02secs.

Farrer’s Mitchell Henderson also performed brilliantly, medalling in the under 16 boys 200m hurdles.

Competing up an age group, Henderson’s heat time of 26.70secs put him the third fastest. He was though awarded the silver with the overall winner from Macau and hence ineligible.

Calrossy’s Emma Klasen meanwhile had a tough championships. After being disqualified from the under 16s girls 100m, Klasen was then the fastest through to the final of the 200m. 

But she was unable to repeat her heat run of 24.65secs and finished just outside the medals in a very tight race with the first five across the line all under 25secs.

She did though anchor her NSW team to gold in the 4x100 relay.
