Founders Gary Sinclair and Matt Witson first started wearing pink to work on Fridays in support of their wives respective battles with breast cancer, before stepping up the awareness campaign on Facebook last month.
Since then partners Hip Pocket Workwear have been inundated with orders for pink shirts, and monograms according to owner Sue McIntosh.
“We have done at least 50 so far, and are expecting to do a lot more once Christmas is over,” Mrs McIntosh said.
“We have got a full range of compliant shirts, polos, and vests, and we are even thinking about hard hats and other items – people can even bring their own gear in to be monogrammed.”
“It is a great initiative, not just about breast cancer, about being vigilant about your body and looking after yourself in general.”
November’s Savvy Birds team of the month went to Eco Energy and Solar Solutions, who had the full team kitted out in pink on Fridays.
