The Christmas at the Capitol performance also featured sound and backing of the 2340 Big Band and performances from Tamworth City Dance Academy, Gabriela McDonald, Peter Ross, Kate Armstrong, Natacha Curnow, Rob Christmas, Ann Walsh, and more.
The show kicked off with the opening instrumental of We Wish You a Merry Christmas, performed by 2340 Big Band and Tamworth City Dance Academy, before performers took the audience on a ride of our favourite carols (from Jingle Bells to Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer) Christmas stories and musical theatre.
Mr Cousens, an actor, singer, producer, director, and teacher, was back in his hometown of Tamworth for the occasion.
He is the only Australian to play the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on London’s West End.
He has had an extensive career playing major roles in musicals throughout Australia, New Zealand and England.
