An over-50s veterans cricket day-nighter is set for No.1 Oval on Friday, with it made up of players who took part in this year’s state championships in Armidale.

“We have two full teams of 11, which is very promising for the future of vets cricket in Tamworth,” said Greg Killett, Tamworth Veterans Cricket president.
“If anyone wants to come down and witness some of the past cricketers ply their trade, by all means come and have a look.”
Playing are the the Gleesons and the Hazlewoods.
The Gleesons: Barry Everingham, Craig Salter, Gary Whale, Don Perry, Andrew O'Halloran, Steve Wilson, Dick McKinnon, Steve Allan, Andrew McGuirk, Scott Krug and Ben Van aanholt.
The Hazlewoods: Richard Rowlings, Greg Kellett, Bede Maher, Wally Allan, Andrew Stevenson, Mark Chew, Brad Biddle, Jono Smith, Scott Hobden, Dean Petty and Brett Davies.
“All the boys are looking forward to the challenge,” Killett said.
