It was the McClymont show at Bingara on Sunday with Jayden McClymont rescuing Gwydir’s inning’s before jagging two wickets as they hung on for a four run Connolly Cup win over the Armidale Second XI.

McClymont’s brilliant and unbeaten 162 underpinned the home side’s 237, which Armidale fell just short of, replying with 9-233.

Coming in at 2-3 McClymont played a virtual lone hand with Rob Reynolds (33) the only other batsmen to make double figures.

Brandon Landsborough led the charge for Armidale with 4-15. He backed that up with 51, and shared a 101 partnership with Nick Page (42) after Shane Wolfenden had hit 60.

McClymont capped off a great game with 2-44 while Nilsson West claimed 3-19.

Glen Innes also compiled a big total against Walcha, Ritesh Shakhawat (96), Ian Law (47), Perry Stapleton (46) and Jack Symonds (39) lifting them to 8-285.

Walcha in reply could only muster 198 with Tom Chard snaring 5-35.

Out at Gunnedah, Darrin Cameron and Vinnie Winsor picked up three wickets as Gunnedah dismissed Pilliga for 135. Ryan Cooper then hit 45 and Kaleb McIlveen 38 as they easily chased that down.
