Mudaliar said it had been a “couple of years” since undefeated Wests – searching for win No.4 this season – had hauled in a total that big.
They’re gonna come at us all day
- Dave Mudaliar
He said: “We’re looking forward to tomorrow [Saturday] with a bit of moisture in the wicket.
“I think it will be a big test for us with the bat to find out where we are – to have a look at how we approach this kind of challenge.”
Norths skipper Brendan Rixon blasted 131 last Saturday, with Evan Brownsmith’s 49 next best.
Shaun Stevenson (3-25 off 6.5 overs), Stuart Irwin (2-38 off 14 overs) and Brock Ridgewell (2-52 off 10 overs) were West Tamworth's chief destroyers.
Mudaliar said: “There’s a lot about this game that’s different to what we’ve faced this year. Being the first two-dayer and being a sizeable run chase … the chase is a good test of our self-belief more than anything.”
He added: “I know that for Norths this is a big game for their season. They’re gonna come at us all day. I expect that, and we have to respond to that challenge. It will be very interesting to see how it pans out.”
Wests have made two changes to the side that played last weekend, with Mick Moffitt replacing Harrison Kelly and Heath Falkenmire in for Stevenson.
