The day was open to all 5–18-year-old kids living with a disability and aimed to help them overcome barriers to taking part in sports and show them the range of sports available to them in the New England area.
Specialist coaches, adaptive equipment and representatives from local sporting clubs were on hand to ensure the kids could try goalball, cricket, basketball and taekwondo in a fun and inclusive environment.
“At Variety we believe all Aussie kids deserve a fair go and no matter where they live, or their ability, they can take part in a sport they love,” Variety – the Children’s Charity NSW, CEO David Sexton said.
Sport NSW Chief Executive Officer Darren Simpson was thrilled to partner with Variety – the Children’s Charity.
“We are excited to deliver the Activate Inclusion Sports Day and hope the kids feel encouraged and empowered to explore the sporting opportunities available to them.”
