The event will run from Thursday to Sunday at AELEC as the riders strive for qualification.
Going by the numbers, the competitors are hungry to compete at the Grand Nationals in March next year.
400 horses have been entered which is a bump in numbers for the event held bi-annually at AELEC.
New England and North West Show Horse Association secretary-treasurer Danni McCusker said competing at AELEC itself was a big drawcard as well.
“It’s probably more the venue. People keep coming back because of AELEC and I think that’s why there’s a few people competing who have already qualified [for the Grand Nationals],” McCusker said.
Riders from NSW, Queensland and Victoria will compete at the four-day event.
Events run all day while spectator entry is free.
