Lucas Divino wins PBR Tamworth Invitational

Brazil’s Lucas Divino had a night to remember at the Australian Equine Livestock and Events Centre on Saturday night riding all three of his bulls to be crowned the Professional Bull Riders Tamworth Invitational champion.

In front of a sell-out crowd Divino covered Too Funky from Bunn Bucking Bulls in round one for 83.25 points, before stepping out and riding Stuart Timms’ Russian Roulette for 85.75 points in round two.

He then secured the win with a 90.75 point ride on Maynes Bucking Bulls’ SweetPro's Hillbilly Deluxe in the Championship Round.

The Championship Round saw some high scores with Fraser Babbington producing an 89.25 score on Robert Bunn’s Acid Rain to finished second overall.

Brazil’s Junior Quaresma drew Light Em Up in the Championship Round and did just that, scoring 87.5 to solidify third spot after winning round two with the exact same score - 87.5.

SweetPro’s Call Me Joe from the TNR Bucking Bulls stable was the highest marked bull of the night with 44.75 points.

He displayed the utmost athleticism in the Championship Round sending Lawson Nobbs home with no final score.

Local hopes Ethan Watts and Lachlan Slade unfortunately also had a tough night and didn’t figure among the placings.

From Tamworth the tour heads north to Townsville for the second Iron Cowboy on November 17 and 18.

Overall Results: Lucas Divino, 259.75, Fraser Babbington, 175.75, Junior Quaresma, 175.00, Rohan Markham, 168.25, Michael Smith, 88.00.
