South Tamworth’s Tom Groth will miss Saturday’s clash with Old Boys but the wicketkeeper said there was players in waiting to fill his spot in the lineup.
James Maltby kept last week, with Groth away on representative duties, and top-scored for Souths with 77.
Travis Ling is also knocking on the door following a huge two weeks.
Ling cracked 107 a fortnight ago in third grade before stepping up to second grade and scoring a massive 150 not out.
“I’m not sure who’ll fill in but Travis has scored two centuries in two weeks,” Groth said.
“He’s been in some of the best form of his life so he’ll be right [if he comes into the first grade side].”
Groth said South Tamworth would take a mountain of confidence into the match on Saturday at Riverside 2 from the side’s first round victory over Old Boys.
In that game, South Tamworth won by 40 runs as Groth top-scored with 52.
