A bubble tent could be the perfect way to camp when you don't like camping.

Australia's first bubble tent site, and most see-through new "glamping" spot, has opened on a 400-hectare working farm between Lithgow and Mudgee, 200 kilometres from Sydney.

With 360-degree views of the night sky, the inflatable bubble tent is made of transparent plastic and is impenetrable to mozzies.

There is just one two-person tent available - fully booked on Bubble Tents Australia - though there are more tents to come.

The tent overlooks the Capertee Valley, which is the second largest canyon in the world.

It's also located in a recognised birdwatching sanctuary and, accordingly, the accommodation comes with binoculars, a telescope and an iPad loaded with birdwatching apps.

Inside the dome you'll find a queen-sized bed, complementary eye masks as well as crockery and a bluetooth speaker.

Campers will have to BYO food, which can be prepared over the camp stove on the adjoining deck.

Thankfully the whole structure isn't see-through - the bathroom is located in a "shielded sanitary sphere" containing an eco-friendly compost toilet and sink with pump water.

The tent costs $250 a night but jumps to $310 on Saturdays and Sundays.
