Members of the Tamworth Evening Branch of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) cooked up a storm recently at St Nicholas's Hall Tamworth.

They were the host club for the 53rd Wanthella Group annual general meeting.
Publicity officer Mary Lee said there were about 65 members and guests at the event, which was officially opened by Yvonne Argent from the Namoi CWA Group.
“Guest speaker was Monique Cwadi, who spoke about her trip to Nepal, which is this year’s country of study,” Mrs Lee said.
“We were welcomed to Tamworth by Mayor Col Murray who commented on what an advantage the CWA is to every town.
“After all the reports were given, a very tasty meal was served by Tamworth Evening Branch.
“A big thanks to all the members for their wonderful effort.”
The new group committee includes: president Betty-Anne White, state representative Judi Swain, secretary Pam Wright, treasurer Roslyn Ferris, and international officer Claire Lennon.
The Wanthella group covers CWA branches from Uralla, Bendemeer, Walcha, Niangala, Nundle, Tamworth, Woolomin and Sommerton.
