In an attempt to produce a winning line-up, Norths have promoted second and third-graders, including Glenn Simpson and Joe Brennan.
“It will be interesting to see how they go,” gun North Tamworth batsman Michael Rixon said.
“We went for a team full of good fielders and good hitters. Hopefully that sort of goes well for us and puts us in the right direction.”
The Twenty20 comp has been revamped this season, with the longstanding franchise-based format substituted for a club-based one.
Rixon applauded the move.
“The other one [the franchise format] had probably run its race … just see how this year goes, but I think it’s certainly a step in the right direction,” he said.
North Tamworth and City United meet in a one-dayer at Riverside No.2 on Saturday.
