For the fourth year, the JDRF One Walk was held at Tamworth’s Bicentennial Park in a bid to raise much needed funds for Type One Diabetes research.
As member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson sounded the starting horn, children, parents and even the family pets set off on a four kilometre journey along the Peel River walking track.
Community members living with Type One Diabetes across all age groups donned bright orange caps and the event doubled as a family fun day with face painting, a teddy bear hospital, raffles, games a barbecue breakfast and merchandise up for grabs.
Similar events are held across the nation each year.
