Locals will have the chance to see the Queen’s Baton in Tamworth on January 31, 2018, when the Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay passes through the region.
Tamworth region deputy mayor Helen Tickle said the locals named to carry the Queen’s Baton through Tamworth were deserving of the recognition.
“We should all be immensely proud of our batonbearers and the role they will take when the Queen’s Baton comes to town,” she said.
“Many have dedicated their lives to improving the lives of others, some have accomplished great feats and others are working towards realising their dreams.
“Being a Baton bearer recognises all of this, and more.”
