Ah-See made the national police rugby league team to tour Fiji after impressive performances for Country against City and NSW.
He spent 10 years in Armidale playing rugby league and union before moving to Wellington earlier this year to take up a job as a police liaison officer.
The outside back “didn’t think he was a chance” to make the side.
“A lot of the side have played before,” he said. “Given it was my first time in the police I was pretty shocked.”
The side took on the Fiji police team on Saturday and clinched a 12-10 victory.
“Our fullback in the Australian side plays for Burleigh Bears so he's pretty good so I was just on the bench to cover anywhere in the backs,” Ah-See said.
“I played about half the game. They had a kick at full-time to try and level it up but luckily they missed.”
