A group of weary riders on the annual 1200km for kids charity bike ride made a brief pit stop at Tamworth hospital to make the donation.
With the money raised for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, the riders donated a Radical-7 Pulse Oximeter valued at $4,740 to the hospital.
By shining a light through the baby’s finger or toe the machine measures the amount of oxygen in their capillaries.
This ensures correct and safe oxygen delivery during highly critical times in an effort to prevent damage to organs such as the brain, eyes and lungs.
The 1200km ride has been held every year since 2006, generating more than $1.4 million in funds for critical hospital machinery.
Tamworth has been a regular beneficiary of the charity ride.
