Tamworth beat the home side on Sunday after posting a highly competitive 7-223 off 40 overs.
They then fought back with the ball after Penrith, spearheaded by former Sheffield Shield player Steve Small, got off to a flyer before being restricted to 6-182.
“In the end we won pretty comfortably,” Tamworth player Barry Everingham said.
Tamworth openers Chriss Crowell (39) and Tom Kellett (29) did their job to get the side to 63, before Kellett was dismissed.
Crowell followed four runs later, and then No.3 Ron Radford went for six with the score on 82.
The ship was steadied by Steve Massey (retired not out on 40) and Everingham (26), whose 65-run partnership propelled Tamworth to 4-147.
Four Tamworth bowlers chipped in with a wicket each, while Terry Murphy had the best figures – 2-32 off seven overs.
