Albion scored the bigger of the two victories when the side easily accounted for Kookaburras by 137 runs.
Albion was positive from the outset with captain Andy Mack going after the Kookaburras’ attack.
When Mack fell to Cameron Milne (3-31) in the 11th over with the score on 69, he had scored 54 of Albion’s runs.
Milne took his second of the day two overs later to have Albion at 2-74 but there was no slowing the side down.
Opener Andrew Wright (49) continued playing his role as the anchor for Albion while ex-Kookaburra Brad Jenkinson racked up 41 runs for his new club.
The duo fell in the same over – the 25th – but not before they’d put on 84 together to move the score to 158.
Shane Riordan (2-20) snared a couple wickets but cameos from James Mack (23), Damien Baldwin (23) and Zach Martin (20*) meant Kookaburras would have to score a tick under six runs an over to claim victory in the 40-over match.
The opening spells of Jenkinson (2-18) and Ryan (0-13) saw the required run-rate skyrocket before Hayden Baker (3-11), Will Maggs (2-41) and Jamie Eveleigh (1-8) put the game out of reach.
When the Kookaburras’ innings ended, they sat at 9-97 after top-scorer Milne retired hurt on 28 around the midway mark of the match.
Beau Clarke (22) and Alex Seach (16) were the only other Kookaburras batsmen to move into double figures.
Batting first was the way to go in the Court House-Mornington match as well with Court House cruising to a 95-run win.
Court House’s start wasn’t as flash as Albion’s but Micheal Flannery (24) steered the ship in the right direction before he fell with the score on 47.
A couple more wickets fell and Court House were in some strife at 4-54.
However, Ben Haire (32) and Brad Gander (26) came to the rescue, putting on a partnership of 40.
The duo fell in quick succession but captain Farran Lamb (31) and Ben Irwin (12*) kicked the score along to see Court House finish at 7-158. It then took Court House 23.3 overs to bowl Mornington out.
Oscar King (3-8) finished with the best figures for Court House while Isaac Harris (3-16) picked up his second three-wicket haul in a row to see Mornington bowled out with 63 runs on the board.
Mornington and Kookaburras will have the chance to break their duck next week as the two teams face off.
