The Tamworth side will play in Division 1 and have drawn a home side spearheaded by former NSW and Tasmanian first-class cricketer Steve Small in their first game.
Port Jackson Red and the Central Coast Cyclones are also in Tamworth’s pool, and they will face them Monday (Port Jackson) and Wednesday (Cyclones).
Tamworth were two years ago joint champions and have performed reasonably well over the years.
They will be capably led by Australian representative and state selector Chris Crowell.
New England and Quirindi also have teams involved. Both are Division 2 and are set to meet on Sunday.
