The Twenty20 tournament was staged over Friday and Saturday, the idea behind it to create a bit more of a carnival atmosphere to start the season.
Five teams were involved, with the four local club sides joined by the Western Razorbacks, which was comprised of players from Wee Waa, Pilliga and Baan Baa.
RSL emerged victorious after beating Civeo by nine runs in Saturday night’s final.
They were undefeated over the weekend, Mick Dowdell, with a blazing 71 in the Saturday afternoon game, and quick Nathan Trindall two of their standouts.
The latter got the two big wickets in the final of Nick Smart and Lachie Cameron.
The Civeo openers showed how damaging they can be on Friday night when they chased down Tatts’ seemingly competitive 3-139 in just 14.3 overs.
Smart finished unbeaten on 81 and Cameron 59 after Tom Craig had smacked an unbeaten 105 for Tatts.
The normal 45-over competition begins this Saturday with RSL and Civeo facing off and Crossroads taking on Tatts in a grand final replay.
