Tamworth duo Deni Baker and Jessica Davidson have both been selected in the under 15s side while Inverell product Claire Lennon has been chosen in the under 18s team for the national championships.
Gunnedah’s Claire McGuirk and Tamworth’s Isabella Cameron have also been named as reserves in the under 15s team.
The strong presence of Central North players in the extended under 15s squad stems from the side finishing runner up at the championships.
After winning all three round matches, Central North progressed to the final against North Coast.
North Coast batted first and set Central North a target of 109 runs to win.
Despite, Alyssa Ford (33*) scoring her highest score of the tournament, Central North could only muster 85 runs as Ford and McGuirk (11*) remained unbeaten.
The under 18s side managed one win at the tournament. That win came against ACT/Southern on the opening day.
Central North restricted ACT/Southern to 3-71 before Lennon (15) and Lauren McGill (15) top-scored to secure the win.
The under 18 national championship will be held in Canberra from November 27 to December 7 while the under 15 teams will travel to Adelaide in January next year.
