The 26-year-old cannot be identified for legal reasons but faces several firearm-related and intimidation offences after allegedly threatening two people inside a Gilgai home on September 21.
The man, who was arrested at a property in Sapphire St, Tingha, on Friday, was denied bail in an out-of-sessions bail hearing in Inverell on Saturday.
He appeared in custody in Moree Local Court on Monday where Magistrate Roger Clisdell denied him bail after he failed to show cause for release.
The court heard he was on conditional liberty at the time of the alleged offending. He has pleaded not guilty to all offences.
Police said a .22 calibre pistol and a shortened firearm were discovered by officers who combed the Gilgai property on Thursday.
New England Detective Inspector Ann Joy told Fairfax Media said police were called after reports of a firearm being produced and would allege the altercation stemmed from a domestic dispute.
“Police will allege a confrontation ensued and that culminated in a firearm being produced and threats being made,” she said.
“One of the firearms located was a pistol and the second firearm police will allege was in a loaded state.

Police seized both firearms and Detective Inspector Joy said the guns would “be subject to further investigations and examination to determine their origins”.
She said no one was injured during the alleged confrontation.
The New England Target Action Group (TAG) along with the Dog Squad from Tamworth and Inverell police arrested the 26-year-old “without incident”, before he was taken to Inverell Police Station.
He was charged with two counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol, possessing an unregistered firearm and two counts of intimidation.
The man will return to court in November.
