HE’S A regular on the Tamworth Country Music Festival circuit and 2016 busking champion Mitch King will return to the city this weekend.

The singer-songwriter will perform a gig at the Post Office Hotel on Friday, September 29 from 7pm.
He’s spent the first half of the year touring nationally before grabbing his guitar to write and record his powerful new single, Burning which he has described as “the most enjoyable recording experience” he’s had to date.
“I’m very content with this track and it’s an accurate interpretation of my thoughts at the moment. We’ve brought new ideas to the table and I’m chuffed with the way this one’s turned out,” he said,
“It was a whole lot of fun working together with Blake Malone and I felt my passion, as an artist was equalled by his passion as a producer.”

King said he initially set aside four weeks to write the song however it all didn’t come together right away.
It wasn’t until he was at a mate’s house and he felt the urge to grab a guitar and he wrote the song in ten minutes.
Since taking out the 2016 busking championships at the Tamworth Country Music Festival the artist said his career was progressing well.
“It’s been a little bit more cruisey,” he said.
“At the moment I’m spending all my time recording rather than gigging and putting my music out into the digital world.
“I feel like my style in the same but hopefully with a bit more of an evolved and refined sound.”
The weekend concert is his first gig at the Post Office Hotel and one of his first in the city for the busker.
“I’ve never played there before and never really played one in Tamworth before,” he said.
“I’ve mainly busked and performed in some of the concerts.
“When I busk I sell CDs and things like that and it’s a better way to get my music out to a lot more people.”
As for what’s next, King said he’s been working on a new single which he hopes to record and release soon. He’s also hinted there could be an EP in the works too.
2017 has been an extraordinary year for King, as he continued to tour the country bringing his unique Multi-Instrumentalist Roots sound to festivals and venues throughout Australia.
From sold out Australian headlining shows to performing both internationally and nationally at prime events such as St Kilda Festival, Byron Bay Bluesfest and Blues on Broadbeach proves that his career is certainly on the rise.
