She has secured six drives on the eight-event program.
Rixon has got plenty of talent and will be wearing the NSWSOA silks in each of the six races.
The 18-year-old has harness racing in her blood.
She is the granddaughter of Bathurst’s Tony Turnbull and the daughter of Peter and Cindy Rixon and has certainly got some good statistics behind her name.
Rixon has accomplished 670 drives for 76 wins and 162 placings.
This is her first visit to the Tamworth Paceway.
She is the first ambassador for the NSWSOA.
But she has also been a past ambassador for the Teal Pants campaign which raises funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Today, the talented reinswoman will donate money from her drives to Beyond Blue.
Rixon also took out the 2017 HRNSW Rising Star Series in June.
She has a busy racing schedule, travelling to Penrith last night, on to Tamworth this afternoon and then heads back to Menangle for Saturday night’s racing.
If you would like to see one of the rising stars harness racing, make sure you are trackside for the first race at Tamworth at 1pm on Friday.
Missen success
THE Quirindi Show saw a great representation of harness racing.
Someone still smiling about that is Tony Missen who won the Quirindi Cup with Hes Our Boy.
Missen has been absent from the driving ranks since a bad fall in December but has dusted off the cobwebs now. Will he make a driving comeback?
Missen has three runners at Tamworth on Friday as a trainer including Hes Our Boy in the NSWSOA & Cobbitty Equine Pace with Tom Ison in the spider.
Ison enjoyed a win behind the gelding at Newcastle in July.
