The large CBD site has been in limbo for a number of years as council looked for the right buyer.
Tamworth Regional Council will consider some “changes requested by the proposed purchaser of the velodrome site to the contract of sale” in closed council due to the commercial nature of the item.
The report also requests “council’s authorisation to proceed on the basis of the new timetable for key milestones”.
Earlier this year, council voted to rezone the land currently accommodating the velodrome, paving the way for new business development on the site, which could be anything from offices, to retail such as restaurants, cafes, shops or residential accommodation.
Proceeds from the sale of the velodrome will go towards partly funding the $17 million Northern Inland Centre of Sporting Excellence.
