Now a show is returning to Armidale, which pays tribute to both Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Eagles.
The show is an epic musical salute to the bands that were Americas top country rock legends.
This two-hour stage spectacular captures the sounds and excitement of America’s country rock icons.
It features all the timeless rock and roll classics that defined The Eagles and CCR as 1970’s superstars.
Part one of the highly acclaimed show takes the audience on a musical journey of The Eagles.
The band is the highest-selling US act in history with more than 120 million album sales worldwide, six Grammy Awards, five American Music Awards and ranked by influential Rolling Stone Magazine’s 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists Of All Time while also ranking the band’s 1976 Hotel California album 37th in their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
Master pieces such as Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Already Gone, One of These Nights, Lyin’ Eyes, Take It to the Limit, New Kid in Town, Desperado, Hotel California and Life in the Fast Lane are all faithfully reproduced.
Part two of the show kicks into overdrive, featuring the chart topping sounds of San Francisco’s favourite sons Creedence Clearwater Revival.
With more than 26 million album sales in the US alone, it was CCR’s take of Dale Hawkins’ rockabilly classic Suzie Q that set an irrepressible force in motion.
From 1968 to 1972 the band churned out six powerful albums-each entrenched with roots-oriented rock ‘n’ roll, and all making the band a platinum household name.
CCR anthems such as Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Up Around The Bend, Born On The Bayou, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Travelin’ Band and Green River are sure to set the dance floor ablaze.
The Kings of Country Rock Tour is much more than a concert; it’s the ultimate rock experience.
The cast of multi-talented and internationally respected musicians bring to life a stage show unlike any other- complete with replica costumes and instruments.
The show’s creators spent nine months in pre-production creating the act, which has made it different from the average pub cover band.
The production aims to be as true to the real artists, with care taken to get the original band members’ tone and looks as close as possible.
This show was incredibly popular last time it came to Armidale nearly two years ago.
On Friday, September 1, the show will perform at Armidale Servies Club from 8pm.
Tickets cost $28.50 and are available from the club.
