That was coach Graeme McKenzie’s sentiment following the Waratahs’ 3-2 win over Services on the weekend which locked up the minor premiership for the side.
“It was probably a fairly ugly win, we did a lot of defending and Olympians would probably consider themselves unlucky,” McKenzie said.
“We had a depleted team with lots of people away which made it even more pleasing.
“It was a great club effort.”
Nicole Reid-Smith scored all three goals for Waratahs while Emma Clifton-Smith and Millah Green scored goals for Olympians.
Along with Reid-Smith, McKenzie named his midfield players as some of the side’s best performers along with Bianca Pieper who picked up best on ground honours.
In the other women’s hockey matches, Souths beat Tudors 1-0 and Flames were to strong for Services, winning 6-2.
