Why Leave Town Promotions operation and innovation manager Ashley Watt said they aim to help Aussie communities grow by encouraging more people to buy from their own town.
Ms Watt said the business was born from a passion for small communities.
“With all three partners of the business having been brought up in Narrabri, we are all passionate about seeing smaller communities thrive,” she said.
“We wanted to create a business that was based around providing support for local businesses and encouraged the local community to at least consider shopping locally first.”
One of the business’s top products are gift cards for local retailers.
“Our community gift card solution is our leading product,” Ms Watt said. “It has helped inject over $1.7 million into the local economies that use our program. We have 20 towns across Australia either using our program or just about to launch the program.”
The focus is on making it easy for people to think locally first.
“Our gift card program, along with other solutions, provide tangle tools that help to restrict the outflow of money from our communities,” she said.
Ms Watt said they help businesses survive against the increasing competition from online sales.
