Uralla trainer Mitch Faulkner will be really stretching the limit on Friday with four horses engaged at the Tamworth HRC meeting and another two at Albion Park.

After success with Reciprocity last Friday night at Albion Park in taking out the Changeover@Burwood Stud Pace by a head and in a personal best mile time of 1.56.6, Faulkner has elected to stay in Queensland with the filly.
“I was really happy with her,” Faulkner said of the Panspacificflight-Weka Lass three-year-old, who had back-to-back wins after success at Newcastle. “The race panned out in her favour – all she had to do was peel out and run home.”
Reciprocity had the advantage of the one-by-one during the running last start at Albion Park, and on Friday she will once again been blessed after drawing the pole in the Egmont Park Stud Pace.
“I got a bit lucky with the draw,” Faulkner said. “I don’t want to think about the three on the trot – whatever happens happens.”
Faulkner is accustomed to training winners at Albion Park but not driving them, with Reciprocity gifting him his first win as a reinsman at the Queensland track.
“I was fairly ecstatic about it,” he said.
Faulkner is certainly getting the best out of the former Kiwi filly with two wins and two seconds from six race starts for the stables.
Stablemate Onedin Highlander will make an all-out effort for a win when he goes around in the Lunchbox Lodge Spelling Farm Pace (4.57pm) at Albion Park, with the tough barrier draw of seven. Looking the winner all the way at Albion Park last Saturday, Onedin Highlander was beaten a half-head by I’m Johnny Jet.
“He got a little bit of pressure during the race but he was pretty strong and showed some guts and just got done on the line,” said Faulkner in summing up the run of the Changeover gelding.
“Both the horses have gone better than expected.”
Monterei Bay will have Michael Formosa in the spider in the Wardle Osborne Chartered Accountants Pace.
Faulkner will be expecting more from Yellow Taxi who will step out in the Portable Horse Stables-Trackside Today Pace with Dan Russell taking the drive.
“He ran second last week at Newcastle beaten by Danny Mackney’s horse [Who Killed Kenny].
“It was a good second as Who Killed Kenny went super down there so I hope my horse can repeat the run again today and pick up a cheque.”
Gottashopearly will debut for the stables in the Happy 1st Birthday Milla Douglas Pace. The former Kiwi pacer had his first start in Oz last week at Albion Park with James Rattray in the spider.
Somebeach N Clovelly will conclude the action for the stables in the final event – the Psarakis Accounting Marathon, with Michael Formosa in charge.
“I have certainly got some horses with good race names,” Faulkner said. “But I am really happy with how we are finishing off the season.”
First race at Tamworth is 2pm.
