The only time the Thunderbolts trailed in the match was during the first minute after Canberra scored the first points but from then on it was all Tamworth.
By quarter-time, Tamworth had streaked out to a 25-9 lead with Chris Skilton leading the way with eight points for the quarter.
The lead stretched out to 34 points by the end of the third term before the Bolts clinched the win.
Skilton continued on from his first quarter haul to notch 19 points for the match while Kyle Gupton top-scored to throw down 20 points.
Rhys Chillingworth was also amongst the points with 16.
The Thunderbolts will now take on Bankstown – who beat St George 107-74 in the other semi-final – on Sunday at 12pm.
