About 1.20pm, a Suzuki sedan and a Mitsubishi Pajero collided at the intersection of Peel and Marius Streets, Tamworth.

The driver of the Suzuki, a 93-year-old woman, was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with multiple injuries.

The driver of the Pajero, a 59-year-old woman, was also taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with suspected neck injuries.

About 4.30pm on Friday the 93-year-old woman died in hospital.

Investigations into the crash continue and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
