She’s even more excited for her October concert because of the weather as she’s trading the snow in her homeland of Scotland for the Australian Spring sun.
The singer-songwriter has just released a new album I’m a Survivor which relfects on her true survival tale after a car accident in the 1990s.
It was a traumatic time in the artist’s life in which she says she battled to overcome agrophobia soon after.
Grant’s show will be held at the Tamworth War Memorial Town Hall on Wednesday, October 4 and she promises plenty of entertainment and music.
“I’ve been to Tamworth many times and I am so looking forward to coming back – It’s the Country Music Capital of Australia,” she said.
“I love it because of the people themselves.
“We get a fantastic reception and it’s such a welcoming place and we really enjoy ourselves there
“The weather is going to be much better than what it is in Scotland.”
Grant said her Tamworth fans can expect, “Isla Grant” with all her best songs and all her new ones too.
“There’ll obviously be the favourite Isla Grant songs people would be expecting to hear,” she said. “There will also be a few songs from the I’m a Survivor album.”
Grant said she’s also got a little surprise for fans.
While some time ago she recorded a Christmas album, it never made it for sale in Australia.
She’s been in the studio this year and recorded a brand new Christmas album.
“The first place it is going to be for sale is in Australia,” she said.
“There are two brand new Isla Grant albums on the table for folks and I hope they really enjoy them”
Grant hails from Scotland and is a household name in Ireland.
She’s developed a large following here in Australia and New Zealand.
She started out as a folk singer, but these days she's known as a singer/song writer whose music style crosses from country/folk to easy listening.
From the age of 14 Grant was performing in the folk clubs of Glasgow and Edinburgh, she also expanded her range to country music. She says she was inspired by Merle Haggard.
“He is possibly the finest country artist of them all, his songs have got me through a lot of hard times over the years,” she said.
