To have a chance of making the top four and securing a semi-final spot, the Tigers have to win their remaining matches. They face a tough task on Saturday when they host the ladder-leading Roosters.
The last time the two sides met, the Roosters won 52-6. But Uralla’s form since then as been better.
However, Uralla went down by eight points to second-placed Barraba last round, although Tigers coach Brett Monley is hoping the home ground advantage will work in his side’s favour on Saturday.
“Hopefully we’ll give Kootingal a run for their money and we are still in the mix [for the finals],” he said. “We can still make the semis.”
In other matches on Saturday, Bendemeer host Barraba, the Magpies travel to Bundarra, Walcha welcome Boggabri and Manilla host Bingara.
