Eight cars between Bourke St and Bridge St near Kable Ave were broken into on Tuesday afternoon.

Windows were smashed with bricks and cash and other goods taken.

Police said more witnesses had reported seeing the suspicious male, described as six-foot-tall, wearing a cap, dark hooded jumper and grey pants.

Officers are viewing nearby CCTV and said investigations continue.
