Jake Patrick John Fisher will remain in custody until next week on seven charges stemming from incidents in Tamworth on Thursday, and earlier this month.
Following investigations into two separate alleged assaults, Tamworth Target Action Group (TAG) officers as well as general duties police approached Fisher on Marius St about 1.50pm on Thursday.
Police allege he saw officers and tried to run.
Officers gave chase, and tried to stop Fisher, who they allege was highly aggressive and would not obey police directions.
After he allegedly struggled with officers on the road, Fisher was arrested.
He was handcuffed and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with resisting police during the arrest.
He was also charged with intentionally choking with recklessness, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intimidation and breaching an AVO in relation to an alleged altercation on July 15 in East Tamworth.
He was also charged with common assault and breaking an AVO in relation to an incident on July 17.
Fisher was refused bail by police and spent the night in custody.
He appeared in an out-of-sessions bail hearing in Tamworth Local Court on Friday where he was again refused release and ordered to remain in custody until next week.
