“The team – who have been training hard since January – will be the first side from the school to head to the finals since 1997.
“It’s a credit to their hard work and dedication to training,” said coach Wayne Harris, who played for the QHS team in the 1997 finals.
“We thank the Hurlstone team for making the journey to play in Quirindi today and for their true sportsmanship.”
The 14 Quirindi High School players will head to the Central Coast in mid-August to compete against nine schools in the state finals.
The team is: Casey Clark, Will Roxborough, Hudson Shaw, Ryan Beresford, Bryce James, Wes Riley, Riley Medway, Sam Palmer, Ronin Hadden, Ben Fechner, Chase Clark, Lachlan Bradfield, Jalen Darcy and Angus Nicholls.
