Pardon the pun…but the show we’re referring to is Pinafore & So Much More! A Gilbert & Sullivan Revival. This is Kate’s first show as director for TMS and she is ably assisted by her husband Tim Godden who is no stranger to waving the baton in the orchestra pit as musical director.
Skilled choreographer Cherie Gaites has brought out some of the classic dance moves to complement this show beautifully.
For many years, Tamworth Musical Society has been asked to bring back to life the musical genius of Gilbert & Sullivan – the musical theatre that first brought them together as far back as 1888. This show, Pinafore & So Much More! is a megamix of Gilbert & Sullivan’s great productions; HMS Pinafore, The Mikado, Ruddigore and The Pirates of Penzance.
The 14-strong cast take to the stage in fine voice and great acting prowess.
Gleeson said: “We are so lucky to have such talented people in this town with so many young ones who are the future of the society. It’s such a delight to see both young and the more mature cast members working together to bring audiences such a light-hearted and entertaining show.”
This Gilbert & Sullivan revival will be on at Tamworth Town Hall this weekend with one show on Saturday night, July 22 at 7pm and a Sunday matinee on July 23 at 2pm.
It is so fitting that these two grand performances, back in the Tamworth Town Hall, offer a concert of fanciful topsy-turvey theatre gems accompanied by ever memorable melodies.
A must see for any G&S buff or anyone that enjoys great theatre, first rate music, and much fun. Grab your tickets today.

I am the very model of a modern Major-General
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse
I'm very good at integral and differential calculus
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral
