More than 500 people packed out the hall of William Cowper Anglican School on Saturday night for the black-tie event that teaches people “its okay to not be okay".
Batyr educates and engages people to have positive conversations about mental health issues.
Committee member Meghan Leary said the night was a huge success, with Wendell Sailor, a dual-code international, sharing his story of battling mental health issues as guest speaker.
“Having Wendell Sailor was great – he’s an indigenous role model, he’s had a successful career and his own mental health battles,” Ms Leary said.
It was also the first time the ball had a Welcome to Country, with Kamilaroi man Len Walters leading the charge.
