Playing centre half-forward and full forward, North Coast named Gould as North West’s best player post-match.
North West won 20.23-143 to 8.6-54.
North West player Andy Mack, of the Gunnedah Bulldogs, praised Gould.
“He’s a boom kick of the football,” Mack said.
“He kicked one yesterday that was around 50 metres.
“He leads very hard inside the forward 50.
“He’s a brilliant mark.”
The umpires named Mack’s Gunnedah teammate, Jake Spackman, best on ground.
Mack attributed North West’s dominance to a new policy that ensured the strongest side possible played. “We had the best 22 players in the league and it really showed,” he said.
In the women’s match, the region’s first ever women’s representative team edged North Coast 2.6-18 to 2.5-17.
