Allarnna Jade Manager is being held in custody at the Dillwynia Correction Centre near Sydney on charges of wounding a person with intent to grievous bodily harm and reckless wounding.
She appeared via video link in Armidale Local Court where Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) solicitor Luke Boenisch said he needed more time to gather evidence.
Manager was arrested at the Hargrave St unit block on March 10 by Armidale detectives who allege she attacked a 29-year-old man, stabbing him several times inside the unit.
“What’s the problem,” Magistrate Michael Holmes asked, about the hold-up in the case.
“I’m advised there is a lack of clarity in the medical certificate that’s been provided which needs to be clarified,” Mr Boenisch told the court.

Legal Aid solicitor Wendy McAuliffe said the charge of wounding requires a specific definition.
“The medical certificate isn’t there yet,” she told the court.
The court heard the medical certificate details injuries in relation to the alleged victim’s back but “there is additional injuries to the hand”.
Mr Holmes said there needs to be a “detailed report” and each wound should be determined.
Ms McAuliffe said she had “commenced negotiations” on the matter.
“I will use my best endeavours to have the matter ready on the next occasion,” she said.
“There is no application for bail, Your Honour.”
Manager was refused bail in court in May after Mr Holmes found she was an unacceptable risk of interfering with victims or witnesses in the case, despite the defence presenting medical evidence detailing Manager was pregnant.
The show cause hearing was triggered after the court heard she was on parole at the time of the alleged stabbing in March, this year.
“There should be discussions in the this matter,” Mr Holmes told Manager, before formally refusing bail, and adjourning the case.
“There is a couple of things to be clarified and your lawyer will be in touch.”
The case will return to court in mid-July.
