Many childcare centres and preschools will be a sea of red outfits, and some will even host a disco.
The Red Nose charity aims to reduce the rate of sudden death in pregnancy, infancy or childhood, and to support the 3200 Australian families per year who experience it.
Red Nose Day is well-known for its signature merchandise of red noses, pens and pins.
Online fundraising pages have joined the mix, and discos for kids were introduced in 2015.
Among other activities across the region, Centrepoint Childcare Centre kids will be dressing in red, while Billabong Kids Central and Goodstart Early Learning Tamworth will be hosting a Red Nose disco.
According to Red Nose, about 50,000 kids across Australia will have taken part in one by the end of this month, to the tunes of digital stations iHeartRadio and Little Rockers Radio.
