Tamworth will send four teams – 12s, 13s, 14s and 15s – to Sydney for the Netball NSW State Age Championships this weekend.
The juniors have been inspired by the older teams’ results and are looking forward to showing everyone what they can do.
The 13s and 14s will have the biggest, and hardest, task out of the four teams.
The sides will have 19 games over the three days and both squads are very keen to improve on last year’s standings.
The 14s finished 7th last year and the 13s finished 9th.
The association believe with the extra year under their belts, both sides will improve and are a good chance to finish in the top five of their divisions.
The 15s didn't have the best run last year, some injuries to key players at the last minute saw them finish 15th.
However, all the players are keen as mustard to show the teams at the titles what they are made of.
Coach Kerry Deaton has been happy with their transitional play from defence to attack.
That was shown last weekend as the side competed in the open division at the Gunnedah Carnival.
The newcomers on the block are the under 12s.
It will be the side’s first trip to the titles and once the nerves settle, the juniors will be able to get into a groove and coach Shelley Beard has the girls ready to hit the ground running. The event will run from from July 1-3.
