“I would like to congratulate the children who were successful at their recent Cross Country events. They will now compete in Sydney at the State Cross Country Championships,” Warner said.
Not only was Warner rapt by the performance of the kids who progressed onto the next level but also the ones who just missed out.
“I was immensely proud, also, of all the runners who competed on the day who were very close to going to the next level, running in front of 60 to 70 runners in their respective age races. Some were competing at this distance level for the first time,” he said.
The kids are also preparing for upcoming shorter races.
“All my runners are now training hard and strong for their upcoming school carnivals competing in 100, 200, 400 and 800-metre events,” Warner said.
