Moree’s Eric Dumas can add a few more world powerlifting medals to his growing collection after coming second overall in the Master 2 93kg division at the 2017 World Classic Powerlifting Championships, held in Minsk, Belarus.

The Moree dentist received gold in the squat section of the three lift competition with 250kg, and secured a bronze medal in the deadlift, lifting a personal best of 267.5kg. He placed sixth in the benchpress section with 140kg.
All up he lifted 657.5kg which earned him a silver medal in the Master 2 93kg division, just behind Great Britain’s Robert Rodney (703kg) and ahead of Kazakhstan’s Gennadiy Melnik (652.5kg). This was an improvement on Dumas’ 2016 World Championship campaign, which saw him place third overall.
