Rounding the final turn and at top speed Bling It On copped interference and fell heavily. Suffering injuries the American Idle horse was conveyed to the Gatton University for surgery on both knees where a handful of track gravel was removed with the legs then placed in a splint to aid the recovery.
Resuming from a let up, the Craig Cross trained six-year-old was being prepared for the upcoming winter carnival features at Albion Park next month, the Gr.2 $50,000 Garrards Sunshine Sprint on July 8 followed a week later by the Gr.1 $200,000 UBET Blacks A Fake.
A victory in the Blacks A Fake would have secured the title of Australian Pacing Gold Grand Circuit champion for the 2016/17 season.
With a track record of 77 race starts for 42 wins and 17 placings the six-year-old has only gone the two minutes on three race occasions – the rest were sub two minutes with his best being 1.50.8!

The Harness Racing NSW Rising Stars Series is currently in full swing and so far the group has competed at Young, Bathurst and Penrith with another heat to be part of tonight’s Newcastle meeting.
Raced on a point score system the group will contest their final race on Sunday at Menangle as part of the big NSW Breeders Challenge Finals day for the final.
There are a few names in the selected group of 10 junior reinswomen and men who have graced the Tamworth Paceway: Brad Elder, Daniel Morgan, Madi Young and Mackayler Barnes.
It is a great series for the youngsters.
Not only do they show off their driving skills but also visit Studs, have a day with Steve and Jenny Turnbull at The Lagoon, meet some driving greats, learn media skills and in general have a good time. This year’s chaperon and mentor is Darren Binskin.
